SUMMARY:MGT310: Threat and Hazard Risk Identification and Risk Assessment / Stakeholder Preparedness Review
DESCRIPTION:This Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment and Stakeholder Preparedness Review course introduces the six-step THIRA/SPR process which includes identifying threats and hazards that stress a community’s capabilities\, giving context to those threats and hazards and identifying associated impacts consistent with specific factors\, identifying community-specific capability targets\, assessing current levels of capability in comparison to those targets\, identifying capability gaps and subsequent strategies to close those gaps using the POETE (Planning\, Organization\, Equipment\, Training\, and Exercises) areas\, and assessing and describing the impact of funding sources on building or sustaining capabilities in a community. \nSuccessful completion of the course will assist local emergency management efforts and stakeholders in generating actionable preparedness data that communities can use to support a variety of emergency management efforts\, including planning\, training\, exercises\, and incident response and recovery. THIRA/SPR-informed planning is consistent with\, and expands on\, nationally accepted emergency management standards as the basis for planning across the mission areas of prevention\, protection\, mitigation\, response\, and recovery.

DESCRIPTION:The Northern Idaho Healthcare Coalition is sponsoring a free healthcare incident command training\, which will be offered in Hayden and Lewiston.  There is no virtual option available. \nThis training will focus on the first steps of incident command in a healthcare setting. \n\nWednesday\, March 18\n\n\n9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. PT\nKootenai County Office of Emergency Management – 1662 W Wyoming Ave\, Hayden\n\n\nTuesday\, March 24\n\n\n9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. PT\nPublic Health – Idaho North Central District – 215 10th St\, Lewiston\n\n\n\nLunch will be provided at both trainings. \nThe training will be taught by Ken Mitchell\, MBA\, President and Principal Consultant at Evergreen EOC Solutions.  Ken has 12 years of experience in healthcare emergency management\, safety\, and environment of care compliance.  He has served in emergency management and safety leadership roles at Providence\, Kootenai Health\, and MultiCare Health System. \nAs President of Evergreen EOC Solutions\, Ken has assisted many clients to include hospitals\, ambulatory surgical centers\, rural health clinics\, behavioral health treatment centers\, and federally qualified health centers build robust emergency management\, safety\, and environment of care programs.  He has helped facilities achieve DNV-GL compliance as well as successfully navigate Joint Commission and CMS accreditation.  He has led facilities to be awarded ISO 9001 accreditation and has been on the Washington State Governor’s healthcare emergency management advisory board. \nWhile the training is provided at no cost\, registration is required.

SUMMARY:AWR-232: Mass Fatality Planning & Response for Rural Communities
DESCRIPTION:AWR 232 is an 8-hour\, DHS/FEMA-certified\, tuition-free\, awareness-level course. The goal of this course is to teach participants the basics of mass fatality response while providing opportunities to exchange rural perceptions and brainstorm solutions to simulated emergencies. Responding to a mass fatality incident\, which includes the recovery\, identifications\, and reunification of the deceased\, is one of the most difficult aspects of disaster response. In times of crisis\, small\, rural\, and tribal communities are often ill-equipped with facilities to manage large numbers of casualties. When the time comes\, communities must be prepared to use available resources to properly manage the remains that will result. Regardless of the agencies or organizations that respond\, whether they be governmental agencies or private or non-governmental organizations (NGOs)\, the responsibility to coordinate and manage these outside resources rests with local authorities.

SUMMARY:MGT-341: Disaster Preparedness for Healthcare Organizations Within the Community Infrastructure
DESCRIPTION:The National Infrastructure Protection Plan identified hospitals and healthcare organizations as critical infrastructure.  This course brings planning and management stakeholders from the hospital and healthcare sector together with supporting and impacted community leaders to ensure the resiliency of healthcare infrastructure services in the event of a high-consequence event.  Participants will examine preparedness processes and activities\, sector dependencies and interdependencies\, and discuss resiliency strategies to endure the sustainability of these facilities and organizations. \nParticipants successfully completing this course will receive a course certificate of completion.  Individuals who complete this course in combination with the MGT-317\, MGT-343 and MGT-345 are eligible for the TEEX Infrastructure Disaster Management Program Certificate. https://goo.gl/LqC2at \nRequired Pre-Requisites: FEMA Student ID and TEEX student ID (provided during registration on TEEX site). \nRecommended Pre-Requisites: ICS 100\, 200\, 700\, & 800 \nNote: Students must be US Citizens\, or green card holding permanent residents.
